4.1 Starting an SA800 Form

If you wish to start a personal tax return for one of your clients there are several methods for you to enter the SA100 Form. You can enter through the ProTax32-SA800 icon in Forbes Systems. This is covered in section 2.1 of this manual. Alternatively you can enter through Clientbase. Details of operating this are covered in chapter 13 of this manual.

4.2 Basic Form Filling Operations

Chapter 2 of this manual covers the procedures for operating the Form Completion System. This part of the program is utilised by all the Forms and you should refer to that chapter of the manual for the common procedures.

4.3 Using the Tax Office Database

The SA800 links to a database of Tax Offices. To access the tax office database click on the button above the tax office address field. This will bring up a list of tax offices. To find the relevant office scroll through the list. Alternatively, you can use the letter keys at the bottom of the dialog box to take you through the list in alphabetical order, or enter the district number at the top of the dialog box.

When you have the correct tax office, select OK.

4.4 Overwriting Formulae

Under certain circumstances you may wish to overwrite some of the formulae. Type in a value followed by an exclamation mark.

4.5 Transferring data from the SA800 to the SA100

Transfer of information from the partnership tax return to the personal tax return can be done automatically.
If you have not already done so, you must create a personal tax return for the partner in question.
Make sure that there are partnership additional pages on the individual’s SA100.

Enter the partner’s share of the profit onto the partnership tax return.

You will notice that there is a transfer button close to the individual partner’s details.

If you click on this, a dialog box will appear, asking you which tax return you wish to transfer the figures on to.

Select the individual’s personal tax return, which you created earlier, and click on OK. Figures will then be transferred onto the partnership pages of the SA100.
